What a whirlwind summer! Lots of action and gigs with different band line ups and new solo venues for me. I just started working my first (hopefully regular) solo gig in San Francisco at the Grand Hyatt Hotel. I think it went OK. Nobody told me to leave (LOL) and a few people put cash in my tip jar. Thats always a good sign….. ha.

I played twice at the Gilroy Garlic Festival last week end. Yee Ha! On one stage with a country band ( I was on acoustic guitar) and on bass guitar at the amphi theatre stage with the Lara Price band “Velvet Plum” (featured image for this post)

I’m thrilled to be on bass this summer in Lara Prices’s band. This is a really fun, creative band to play with. The vocals in the band are one of the high lights too. If you get a chance come see us at one of the Capitola or Santa Cruz area gigs we do. You will have fun I promise! Ha….

Here is the low down for this week end if your around:

• Friday night at the Fairmont Hotel in San Jose my band “Mojo Blanc” will be performing classic rock and funk covers from 9pm to midnight.
• Saturday I have a private solo gig in Marin. Sorry you can’t come….
• Sunday I’m solo at the Palo Alto Urban Village Farmers Market from 9am to 1pm.

My wife and I survived our first Irish wedding. With the ceremony on St. Steven’s Green in Dublin and then the reception in the Wicklow Mts. DJ and my awkward Anglo dancing until 2am. Then the hotel staff went home and the acoustic guitars came out. Singing until 4am! Great fun and we are so happy for our singer/songwriter friends Gary Burke and Katie Burke. They made our life in Dublin rich and full of great music when we lived here for a few years. On to the Americanos to start our day relaxing in Glendalough, Ireland. — at Glendalough.

So its been a while since I’ve posted anything on my news page. I got pretty busy this last fall between and bunch of solo gigs and some voice over work showing up along with keyboard and bass guitar projects with The Miles Schon Band. I’m not naturally great at managing my time so after feeling pretty over whelmed I eventually learned to “make lists”. A brilliant technique for helping me not freak out about what seemed to be a boat load of booking and voice overs needing to be done. The Wednesday night gigs at The Toll House Hotel in Los Gatos have ended but the weekly solo gigs at the San Jose Fairmont Hotel as well as some of the winter farmer’s markets are keeping my solo material polished. Miles Schon and I continue to perform a duo at the Fairmont Hotel in San Jose every couple of week. Our duo material is getting tighter and Miles continues to be a brilliant and rewarding musical partner.

So for 2015 I’m going to focus on re releasing my original EP on iTunes as well as releasing for sale some recordings of the covers I perform solo. I also need to wrangle some new and current video and photos. Thanks to fans and friends for a wonderful 2014 playing music! All the best to all of you for 2015.

Really nice day this was. I felt like I was playing in a garden in the space they have the musician set up. Note how nice the Bose Compact columns hold my banner between them 🙂 LOL

I’ve made the move from a gas generator to battery power for my out door gigs. The next step is solar power! Good fun with gadgets and toys for me. Ha!
