these posts all talk about my gigs

  • Trip to Colorado

    Trip to Colorado

I went back to Colorado to play a concert. I hated to leave California because I’m getting connected here. That being said I had a great time and got to catch up with some old friends. I video-d a bit of the concert. Here is an excerpt.

I’m playing bass in Joanne Leblanc’s blues band. Good fun for sure. Some of the legendary local musicians gig with her. I’m still looking for places to play solo but the bass guitar work is awesome fun. I’m going to create a page on this site for my bass promo πŸ™‚

  • Celbridge Rocks

Plenty of action Saturday night with the Groove Brothers at The Village Inn Celbridge. Martin and I were having fun and in good form. Martin didn’t even try his Wayne Newton impersonation. Funny, but I kind of missed it.

  • The Blarney Inn and Kildare Street Hotel Dublin

So I’m really liking this job in City Centre at The Blarney Inn. It’s the pub connected to a hotel on Kildare street called The Kildare Street Hotel. I get a very diverse crowd and everyone is visiting Dublin. http://www.kildarestreethoteldublin.com/.

It holds true to my theory that people on vacation are easy to play for. Currently they are remodeling the pub and the night club. We’ll see how things pan out there but its a nice place to play. My lovely wife came in with my mother in law last night too. We celebrated my wife’s birthday. I won’t mention which birthday. :–)

  • Good Fun in Temple Bar Last Night!

What a great time I had playing ag The Purty Kitchen last night. We had a great group of young people from France and Spain. Β I had a request for “La Bamba”, (no surprise) and the 1970s classic “Dust in the Wind”. “Dust in the Wind”? Are you kidding me? I would have never guessed this young audience would have even known of that song. Their parents, must have played it for em. πŸ™‚

I’ll look forward to going back to that gig soon.

  • Another Last Minute Gig Tonight. (Temple Bar)

The spring music season seems to be heating up. At least in my universe. Got a call today to play at “The Purty Kitchen” tonight in Dublin City Centre. http://http://www.purtykitchen.com/

I haven’t performed near as much in Temple Bar as I have around the Dublin area so this will be interesting and exciting. I’ll get to entertain some tourists. Maybe even some Americans. OMG! πŸ™‚ Β I’ll fire up around 9pm.

  • The Blarney Inn Friday March 9th

Had a ball last night at the Blarney Inn on Nassau St. We got asked to play again next Friday too. I love it when that happens. A spontaneous gig that could turn into a great regular gig. Β Thanks to Tom at the pub and Anthony Bools for getting us in the door!

  • Last minute gig tonight!

Keith Burke just called and he and I are going to be playing at “The Blarney Inn” city centre tonight. Good stuff. πŸ™‚ oh yea, 8 pm start.

  • Back in Celbridge March 11th

Once again the infamous Martin Murphy and Wil Roberts perform at “The Village Inn” in Celbridge as “The Groove Brothers” on March 10th. I’m still threatening to take the mic away from Martin during a gig unless he quits with the Wayne Newton impersonation at the end of “American Pie”.

St. Paddy’s Day looming on the horizon.

  • Thanks Giving Day at The Schoolhouse Pub

Gigging tonight at the Schoolhouse Pub and its Thanks Giving in the States. Maybe I’ll have some one from the U.S. in the audience. I meet Americans often at this gig. Happy Thanks Giving to all the Americans out there!!

Oh yea, start time is 9pm for me. πŸ™‚

  • Schoolhouse pub Friday Nov. 4th

So I’m singing at the schoolhouse pub again tomorrow night. Not sure what to expect. It’s getting cold in Dublin now and the days are getting short. This is a cozy place to make music. I’m starting at 10pm.
